The lamp has been tested by Droog Design to be safe and does not produce much heat to be a fire hazard. However we recommend caution and common sense judgement when using this lamp including not leaving it on when it is unattended, or using a wet garment.The lamp is best when used with lighter color garments.The Droog Design Clothes Hanger Lamp was designed in 2002 by Hector Serrano. The Clothes Hanger Lamp is made in Europe and is CE certified. However the lamp is NOT presently UL listed. It is 110 volts for use in the USA. The lamp is made from Acrylic, and uses a compact fluorescent 11 watt light, measures 16"L x 8.5"H x 2"D.
